“Red Bull also demanded him[Kimi] to commit to driving in simulators, to which Räikkönen just couldn’t agree to. He has a good reason for that, because simulator tests have always caused him physical sickness, nausea. And they didn’t reach an agreement in salary-matters.”

“Kimi is measured in a whole new way. He has never been in a situation like this before. Juan Pablo Montoya tried to play head games back in the time, but it ended up in Montoya going to Nascar in the middle of the season. Good luck, Fernando.
The contract was made already ages ago, which at the end of summer, after which the typical game in F1 took over.”
-Oskari Saari
“I never asked Kimi to return. It was he who wanted to come back. I never said it to him, but I thought he was too young to quit in 2009. I was surprised when he contacted me and told he wanted to return. I thought it could be difficult, especially since Michael Schumacher was at the same time in trouble after his comeback.
We managed to get him into good positions and then Kimi made a completely fantastic comeback, which now leads back to Ferrari”
-Steve Robertson
“It’s totally unbelievable that the team throws Kimi out even though he has a contract. There has to be a lot of money in the game when Kimi wins races and still his contract is terminated. You have to pay the salary and the fine plus whatever else along that. It doesn’t seem to have shaken Kimi up. For someone else it would have been a really tough place to accept that the team no longer wants you and is ready to pay big bucks for that. Kimi doesn’t seem to care at all. That’s his strength. If it would happen to me it would be really tough.”
-Nico Rosberg after it was announced Kimi’s contract was Terminated in 2009
“Two years ago, when we decided to sign him, quite a few people thought we were crazy. And what happened in the end? We’ve been working with an amazing racer, who scored points for the team 27 times in a row, won two races, put motivation at a very high level at Enstone, and got on very well with his team-mate. Of course this is a disappointment to all of us, and we’re sure you will agree that Kimi has been nothing but brilliant since he joined us.”
-Eric Boullier
